聚酯纖維(POLYESTER FIBERS)，俗稱“滌綸”。是由有機二元酸和二元醇縮聚而成的聚酯經紡絲所得的合成纖維，簡稱PET纖維。
聚酯纖維比較大的優點是抗皺性和保形性很好，具有較高的強度與彈性恢復能力。其堅牢耐用、抗皺免燙、不粘毛。
1941年，英國的J.R，迪克森 DICSON 5459，迪克森 DICSON 5459.溫菲爾德和J.T.迪克森以對苯二甲酸和乙二醇為原料在實驗室內先研制成功聚酯纖維，命名為特麗綸(Terylene)。
